FAW Toyota Launches All-New Land Cruiser Prado, Redefining the Benchmark for “Urban-Ready, Trail-Capable” SUVs

The lineage of the Land Cruiser Prado traces back to the first-generation Land Cruiser introduced in 1951, which earned global acclaim among adventurers for its formidable off-road capabilities. Since its debut in the Chinese market in 2003, the Prado has accumulated sales exceeding 350,000 units, cementing its reputation as a symbol of rugged reliability with the enduring promise: “It takes you anywhere—and brings you home safely.”
The all-new Prado is equipped across the entire lineup with a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) powertrain combining a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 243 kW and peak torque of 630 N·m. This system is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel-drive system. Notably, the powertrain maintains stable performance even in extreme cold conditions, achieving a WLTC-rated fuel consumption of just 10.11 L/100 km—striking an optimal balance between environmental efficiency and robust performance.
In terms of intelligent technology, the new Prado debuts Toyota’s advanced Toyota Pilot high-level driver-assistance system, offering features such as autonomous emergency braking and lane-keeping assist. The Toyota Space intelligent cockpit enables seamless connectivity between people, vehicles, and homes. Complemented by a head-up display (HUD) and a multi-terrain monitor system, the vehicle significantly enhances both driving safety and convenience.
