Hongqi E-HS9: Commanding Presence, Luxury, Performance, and High-Tech Flair

The front fascia of the Hongqi E-HS9 adopts a closed grille design, common among electric vehicles. A red light strip extending rearward from the center of the hood evokes the sense of alignment found along the Forbidden City's central axis. Flanked by six vertical chrome bars on each side, the grille creates a powerful visual reminiscent of the Huangguoshu Waterfall cascading down. The front end is further accentuated by elaborate lighting details: the red central strip and the angled light bands on both sides illuminate progressively upon unlocking, delivering a strong ceremonial feel.
From the side, the Hongqi E-HS9 maintains an imposing stance, with substantial visual mass. The squared-off nose, elongated hood, extended rear overhang, and raked D-pillar echo elements of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, while the overall rear profile bears resemblance to a yacht-like body a la Land Rover. The design synthesizes cues from various luxury benchmarks.
Under the chassis, the Hongqi E-HS9 features a front double-wishbone and rear multi-link suspension setup, supplemented by air suspension with adjustable height and damping. During city driving, the air suspension demonstrates impressive vibration isolation. Notably when crossing tall speed bumps, the suspension reacts with clean, well-controlled travel and effectively absorbs shocks. Complemented by plush, supportive seats, the ride remains exceptionally smooth and exudes a premium, high-end character.
