The AITO M5 comes standard with Huawei’s Qiankun ADS 4.0 advanced driver-assistance system, featuring adaptive cruise control and stop-and-go capabilities that significantly reduce the burden of frequent manual operations. Equipped with the Comprehensive Collision Avoidance System (CAS) 4.0, the vehicle boasts upgraded Emergency Steering Assist (ESA) and enhanced eAES (automatic emergency steering). This system supports simultaneous braking and evasive maneuvering within a speed range of 50 to 135 km/h.

In terms of forward collision avoidance, the M5’s Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system actively identifies a wide array of hazards, including stationary and moving pedestrians, pedestrians walking against traffic, those crossing diagonally, as well as stationary and moving vehicles. Furthermore, it can detect two-wheeled vehicles and cars traveling in the wrong direction within the current lane, helping to prevent accidents caused by driver distraction. With newly added predictive capabilities for diagonally crossing pedestrians and two-wheeled vehicles, the system supports “brake-while-yielding” maneuvers to avoid collisions, further reducing the probability of accidents.

The AITO M5 is available in both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) configurations. In CLTC testing conditions, the EREV version achieves a fuel consumption of 5.2 L/100km when the battery is depleted, alongside an electricity consumption of 15.5 kWh/100km. According to official data, the rear-wheel-drive EREV model offers a comprehensive driving range of 1,440 kilometers, while the all-wheel-drive variant reaches 1,275 kilometers. This dual-mode powertrain ensures that range anxiety is no longer a concern.

Underpinning the vehicle is a full aluminum alloy chassis, which reduces weight by 30% compared to traditional steel counterparts. This design not only optimizes range efficiency but also significantly enhances body rigidity. Paired with a front four-ball-joint double-wishbone and rear multi-link independent suspension setup, the AITO M5 delivers exceptional stability during cornering. The result is superior handling, increased structural stiffness and strength, and a driving experience that is robust, safe, and comfortable.
